Mission Statement:

To rescue, rehabilitate and release distressed North Carolina wildlife, by providing medical care and emergency response rehabilitation and to educate our local communities by inspiring proactive engagement in wildlife conservation efforts.

Education

OWLS provides valuable educational outreach to classrooms and local community events to connect people to nature and wildlife.

Rehabilitation

OWLS rescues small mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians if they are injured or orphanied and need human care.  Our priority is animal welfare.

Release

Every effort is made to release animals back into thier natural habitat once they have been rescued and rehabilitated.

We are very grateful for Carteret Community Foundation and their support for awarding a 2024 grant in the amount of $3,540.00.
